Roselda C. Heald Obituary

Roselda Cloud Heald, of New Castle, DE, went home to be with her Lord and Savior suddenly on Saturday, March 31, 2012. Roselda was born on April 15, 1918 at the Clifton Mills Farm outside of Kennett Square, PA, her family's farm, a land grant from William Penn. She was the youngest daughter of 11 children born to James Blaine Cloud and D. Edna Webster Cloud. She was a birthright member of the Hockessin Friends Meeting.

Roselda graduated from Kennett Square High School in 1936. She went on to graduate from Sleeper's Business School in Chester in 1938 and went to work for the DuPont Company and spent most of her career at the Edgemoor Plant. She left the DuPont Company in 1950 to raise her family. Roselda was a devoted, loving mother who led by example. She loved designing clothes, working in her flower garden, and baking. It has often been said of her that she never met a stranger. She truly loved people! Roselda returned to the work force in 1970 working for several years as the secretary for Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church followed by many years as secretary for Outreach to Troubled Teens (now known as Prison Outreach of Delaware).

Roselda was active in her church teaching 5th grade children for over 25 years earning the award of Teacher of the Year in 1976. She also taught Story Hour Clubs in her basement for many years to the children in the neighborhood. She sang in the church choir and in many outside ministries of the church. Roselda loved her Savior and was anxious for the day when she would see Him face to face.

Roselda was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Paul, in 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie, with whom she lived; her son, Timothy and his wife Karen of Wilmington and their 3 daughters, Casey (David) Graham of Middletown, Stephanie (Jordan) Miller of Lynchburg, VA, Kimberly Heald of Wilmington; 2 great grandsons, Mason and Carter Graham; and dear sister-in-law, Virginia Cloud of Nanticoke, MD. They all will sorely miss her along with her many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 from 6pm-8pm and again on Wednesday, April 4th in the funeral home from 10am-11am followed by a service in celebration of Roselda's life at 11am.
